Hour Of Code

Today, in order to celebrate National Hour of Code Week, our whole class is doing Hour of Code. This year, I chose a Minecraft theme. To be honest, the code was actually easier than I thought compared to the coding we did for the car because of the easy course. The programming for the car was inconsistent, so this was nothing compared to the Car Maze Project. All we had to do was chop wood, mine for ore, place down blocks, construct our own house and at the end, build whatever we want. Through 3 weeks of programming for the VEX Car Maze, I had no trouble in the coding, so I finished around 30 minutes.

Since I had a lot of free time, I decided to challenge myself with another game; Flappy Bird. I was always interested in how simple the game was, and yet got so popular. If I could program a simple game like this that earned a lot of money, I could definitely program a much more complex game in the near future as a possible option for my career. Therefore, I got really motivated for this game and before I realized it, I had finished already. I mentioned before that the game looked simple, but to think that the coding was actually simple too! Overall, I really think that the Hour Of Code provides children of all age an opportunity to try out something new and increase their value as individuals. By learning how to code, it opens up a whole different path for you and the salary is strikingly high for having a career in that field.
