As you might have noticed, this is Nightingale's very first STEM Magnet. Before, Nightingale was mostly a resident school, and only a portion of the school was in the NBET magnet. This year, Nightingale is starting fresh by giving the students more opportunities to try out new classes. Now, there are 7 periods in a day, allowing us to have 2 electives of our choice. For instance, before we had 7 periods, we were limited to the classes we could choose, because the magnet that we were in made us take that elective. This year, we can choose to take another magnet's elective if we want and still keep an elective of our choice.
In addition, there are wonderful teachers here that include our STEM and NBET magnet math teacher, Mr. Lexius, our fabulous Robotics teacher, Mr. Reyes, our perfect English teacher, Ms. Mayorga, our fun science teacher, Ms. Kim, and our greatest history teacher ever, Mr. Sanchez!
These are all the best teachers in the school, and they are all in the STEM magnet, so don't miss this opportunity!

Info About Me
Hello! I'm an eighth grader in Nightingale Middle School in the Highly Gifted STEM magnet, and I'm a proud Nighthawk. I'm a responsible person so I always get my work done, and always care for all my assignments. I have straight A's and I'm very dedicated to school and music. I recently joined an afterschool music program called Esperanza Azteca, where you can play any orchestra instrument for free. It takes place from 4-7pm, so it takes up most of my free time.
My particularly strong subjects in school are Math and English, but those are also the hardest classes I have. Don't worry, there are also fun classes too! My math class may be hard, but the teacher is really flexible and fun, so it won't be like any typical math class. My Robotics class by far is the most exciting because the teacher loves competitions and he keeps pushing us to our limits by throwing challenges out of nowhere. "If you're given one chance, might as well take it and do it, because if you win, you win, and if you lose, well then, it's better than not trying."
Trust me, you wouldn't regret joining the STEM magnet if you enjoy challenging yourself! After all, you can only grow by overcoming challenges and not stepping over simple obstacles.
